Hi families!
I am so excited to be creating with your kids. We are going to have fun!
Camera recomendations:
The best camera, is the one you have with you. A usable image of a beautiful moment is better than a perfect image that never got captured.
That said, to get the most benefit from our class, a camera that allows you to control the setting would be the best option. I use the Canon system, but Nikon is amazing too. If you do not have a camera, see if you can borrow one from a family member or use a phone.
If you want to buy one for class...This one looks really perfect for our purposes. It has a manual feature so we can explore creative control and it has a range on focal lengths for many options.
The Canon Rebel Kit
Truly any camera will work. As you begin to capture images, you will begin to see the features that you may want. Cameras all have different feature and it really is personal preference so the best thing to do is get started with what you have, see what you enjoy photographing and then upgrade from there.
Bring:
a notebook and pen
water, always
a snack.
a camera of any kind
a figurine of choice (to have a subject to photograph)

Looking forward to meeting you all!
XOK
