Emily Benzi

I was so excited to photograph ballerina Emily Benzi, who was on her way to Boston Ballet School for 5 weeks of summer training. I was in CT for a visit with family, and we had just enough time to fit in this shoot before we both were on our merry ways! These first images were shot in the studio where she practices in CT. It was a hot day and we had to stay indoors because of the heat and also because they had just paved the parking lot and it was totally stinky! The light in the studio was lovely :) To dance in the sunlight is a very good thing! You get the feeling she's there a lot! For the second half of our shoot, Emily had a great idea brewing, to shoot on the beach in her tutu. I was in love with the idea, so off we went at sunset. The clouds rolled in right on cue to give us that great soft box in the sky look. We caught some great shots. Break a leg Emily, you're living my dream!
